Mango Shake

Ingredients:
  • 1 large ripe sweet mango
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • 5 spearmint leaves
  • 5 ice cubes

Steps:

  1. Scoop out all the mango pulp into the blender beaker.
  2. Add milk, two spearmint leaves, and ice cubes to the mango pulp in the beaker.
  3. Blend until smooth.
  4. Pour into a chilled glass.
  5. Garnish with the remaining spearmint leaves.
NOTE: You may wish to add some sugar or honey to sweeten further if the mango is not sweet enough.

Fruit Smoothie

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 cup mango pulp
  • 5 strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 5 ice cubes
  • spearmint leaves

Steps:

  1. Mix the OJ, mango pulp, strawberries, banana, and ice cubes in the blender beaker.
  2. Add three or four spearmint leaves to the ingredients in the beaker.
  3. Blend until smooth.
  4. Pour into chilled glasses.
  5. Garnish drinks with the remaining spearmint leaves or fresh strawberries.
NOTES: You may wish to substitute Orange juice with Apple, pineapple, or grape juice. Also, you can experiment by adding other fruits like fresh peaches, blueberries, carrots etc. For an interesting kick, I add a pinch of black salt. Of course, you can also add in a shot of Khalua or Amarula or Peach Liqueur.

Guacamole

Ingredients:
  • 2 ripe avocado - peeled, pitted
  • 1 cup chopped plum tomato
  • 1.5 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped corriander/cilantro
  • 2 finely choped garlic cloves
  • fresh black pepper and salt to taste

Steps:

  1. Mash the avocado in a ceramic bowl.
  2. Add all other ingredients and mix gently.
  3. Serve with tortilla chips.
NOTE: You may wish to add some chopped Jalapenos or green chillies.
