A Phew. Whirlwind preparations for R's wedding are over. She is now officially a Mrs. I will be posting some pictures from the wedding in the next couple of weeks.

And I will try to be a wee bit more regular in uploading my Blogs. "Try" being the key word here.

Laziness dictates that I make this posting a list. So, here are the things that have transpired in the last couple of weeks (in sequence starting September 19):

* Spent three hours in the world's biggest bookstore buying greeting cards. (Thank you to Ouida and Marshall for dropping me off there)
* Painted lots of strawberry shaped bowls (for R's shower gift). Wish I had remembered to take a photo of the finished bowls. They turned out fabulous...even M said so!
* Spent scray number of hours walking around in Michaels and Lewiscraft...which I could have spent updating my Blog.
* Ate way too much left-over pizza.
* Helped P buy lots of shoes.
* Found out that my company is viable for another 40 days...till Nov. 4th (which incidentally is Diwali).
* Finished sewing all sorts of sequins and "salma-sitarey" on my lehenga and chunni.
* Helped P and M shop for M's "head-table outfit"...and in the end, he bought clothes for all three days that we spent in Hamilton.
* Stayed at the Day's Inn in Hamilon (on Upper James Street). WHAT A DUMP! We booked a non-smoking room, instead got a room that would make staying in an ashtray seem pleasant. The bathroom door was warped and wouldn't close, the carpet was stained excessively, the grossly-sticky wall-paper was peeling off the walls to the point I was afraid it might smother us. The ceiling paint was flaking and falling in chunks...and those are the positive traits of the room. We paid $72 per night for this Taj-Mahal! Oh, I almost forgot about the gracious front-desk clerk who told O: "I don't want to hear your crap" when O: asked her why our room access cards were not working even though we were paying for the room. DAY INN SUCKS!! If I were George Bush, I'd carry out military action against them.
* R's wedding ceremony was non-denominational. Both R and Mr. R. looked happy. Of course, R looked gorgeous in her custom-made lehenga. M and P also glowed in their totally hip, co-ordinated outfits.
* Finally had one dance with O: (and this is my biggest accomplishment for the month of September!).
* Took a vacation day on the last day of September and spent lounging around at home with O:

Email conversation.

o: (to O:) - Check this out:
" 'Hundreds' of young Chinese women and men have recently endured the painful-for-months "Ilizarov procedure" to gain a few inches in height to supposedly improve their social and professional status. According to a May New York Times dispatch, the $6,000 procedure involves breaking bones in the shins or thighs, then manually adjusting special leg braces four times a day that pull the bones slightly apart, then waiting until the bones grow back and fuse together (which usually takes about six months, plus a three-month recovery). Said one 33-year-old, 5-foot-tall woman (aiming for 5-4): 'I'll have a better job, a better boyfriend, and eventually a better husband. It's a long-term investment.' [New York Times, 5-5-02]"

O: replies: Hmmm...that might upset my armrest.

It Rained. It Rained. Finally. Phew. I was ecstatic this morning driving in the light drizzle. It wasn't a thunderstorm, but I'll take even a teensy amount of rain over another sunny day (Blech).

The rain did remind me that I must get my wipers fixed. Again. I've only had them fixed three times in the four years I've owned the car...I need to get them fixed another time to make it an even ratio of 1:1. Well, they work right now, but, they sound like a wounded elephant every time they swish (at least that's what I imagine the sound to be.)

On another topic, o: the commitment phobic, had O: renew this domain name for NINE (!!!) years. Wow. Nine years. Long time. That'll take me till November 2011. Just as well, because according to the Mayan calendar, the world will end in 2012.

Continuing my gripes, I'm sick and tired of seeing George Bush's face on TV. I wish he would just get some ex-lax and deal with his constipation. Perhaps, then he may be able to think straight some. Speaking of ignorant, today I read somewhere that until the 1950s, for a woman to enter the Miss America pageant, she not only had to be of "good character" but also of the "white race." However, this year apparently the pageant will feature a line-up of multicultural contestants (two Aborignals, one East Indian, and four or five African Americans). Wonder what Stockwell Day would think of this.

For O:
"You are my rainstorm,
my only rainstorm,
you make me happy when skies are blue..."

I'm Back. Well, I'm finally getting around to posting again. September has been quite busy so far. Or maybe I've been a teeny bit lazy.

List of things I've done so far in September:

* Did not go back to School (wish I was taking a course of some sort)
* Saw O: during the Labour day weekend
* Had high tea at the Zoe's lounge at the Chateau Laurier (well, I had the tea service and everyone else shared a bottle of wine)
* Learnt how to make Guacamole (Chilean Style) from Yuby
* Had fun at R's wedding shower (but, forgot to take my camera, so no pictures)
* Shopped at Promised Land for O:'s and my favourite drinking glasses
* Organized my beads in my Mastercraft Bead Organizer
* Met up with MR and AR for an afternoon tete-a-tete at the local Taco Bell
* AR and I perfected our PeachStrawberryBananaOrange smoothie. YUM!
* Managed to live through another 15 days of horrendous sunshine. Rain already.
