Catching Up. In trying to catch up on my blog, I figured I'd return to my list format. Here's what's happened since P's Birthday:

  • P's birthday.
  • P is now engaged. WOW.
  • I have successfully shopped for way too many chocolates, cookies, cakes, and other scrumptious goodies.
  • Had my 6-month dental visit. Pretty uneventful.
  • Renewed my library books once again. This time I have them till December 11, 2002.
  • Met JC.
  • Saw Zakir, Shankar, and Gingger play at the George Westin Recital hall. Sat in the 4th row from the stage.
  • Had brunch with MG and the gang and dinner with at the Old York pub. Checked out their regular Karoake haunt before we left for the night.
  • November 24th was Shamaz's 29th birthday. Happy Birthday Shamaz Bhai. Jug-Jug Jiyo. :)
  • Had brunch with JC's and his sister Margaret.
  • Dropped-off O: and Jack at the airport on Sunday, November 24th and returned home to a very quiet and lonely place.
  • Found out that my company is being bought by 360 networks 6 days after 360 came out of bankruptcy protection. Hmmm. Well, lay-offs are-a-coming. Once again, I will play the wait and see game.
  • Met Heather for lunch. She looks great and now can shop at the same stores as me! Yeah Tristan & America.
  • Worked super-late during the last few weekdays of the month.
  • Lounged at home all day today (Saturday, November 30th). It all paid off when I was rewarded with brand new episodes of Divine Design, While you were out, and Trading Spaces (in UK no less). All the do-overs were questionable in my opinion. I really do dislike Hildy's sense of design. Candice Olsen (touted as the top Canadian designer) the designer for Divine Design, just annoys me. Lastly, while you were out, well, the folks on the show are just too "I'm living the great American dream" types for my liking. ICK. But, I still managed to consume hours of these shows to my disgust. Must stop watching them.

I've got to find a new addiction. Suggestions are welcome. Send them to me. Please.

P's Day.

Happy Birthday P.

Sunday, November 10
It's snowing. R and P came over. R brought her wedding video and the photos. We spent the afternoon looking at the video and the album and stuffing our face. Great girl-bonding session. R is leaving to go on her honeymoon next week. She will tour Egypt and Kenya. I'm sure she'll have lots of stories to tell when she returns.

Last year around this time, I was the one preparing for my trip to Kenya for S and N's wedding.

Speaking of my trip, I must now go harass O: to purchase my scanner so that I can finally scan in pictures from my Kenya trip (among others) and get 'em up on my site.

And, most importantly, it is P's birthday tomorrow.

Diwali

Geeta, Lance, and I went to the Dixie Gurdwara. The gurdwara is nice enough, however, it's another one of those which support Khalistan. There must have been at least 2 to 3 thousand people (and that is my conservative estimate). We waited in line in the basement of the gurdwara for about half an hour for our langar, which was spicy and yummy. While we ate, we could hear the ragis upstairs. The shabads they were singing were very sweet. If it wasn't so busy, I might have considered going back upstairs. Overall, I'm glad we went.

Next time, we will go the Guru Nanak gurdwara in Brampton, the one with the bookstore in the basement. I like that gurdwara the best so far.

Canadian Tire Sucks

My car now has brand new tyres. I had to sit in Canadian Tire from 8:30 AM this morning till 12:30 PM to get them. So much for the one-hour estimate the Canadian Tire-dude gave to me.

Tomorrow is Diwali. Maybe Geeta and I will go to the gurdwara again this year.
